Whitney Elizabeth Houston was the youngest of the children of singer Dionne Warswick and gospel music legend Cissy Houston. Whitney Elizabeth Houston grew up in a musical household. The mother of Whitney Houston and her daughter began to sing professionally together in the church of New Hope Baptist of Newark at the age of 15 years old. From the album, she released several hit singles such as Saving all My Love for You How Are You Going to Know If You're Good to Love? and The Greater Love of All. This resulted in her having seven US number one hits in a row. She beat even the Beatles. It was the debut US year of release, the album had sold more than 3 million copies. Then it went on to be bought by over 25 million people worldwide and earned her her first Grammy. Whitney, her album Whitney was released in 1987, and featuring the popular songs Where Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, continued her earlier success. It came with The Bodyguard (1996) that established her as one of music's best sellers. Though the movie was not highly appreciated and neither was her performance, the soundtrack of the film's Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You hit the number one spot on both singles and albums charts across the US for months. It sold 44,000,000 copies. The same year that she gave birth to her daughter Bobbi she married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point the drug use became well documented and she started using it daily by 1996.

Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorwoman and reporter for the political section of CNN. She hosted a variety of weekend programs for the network, such as Evans & Novak: Late Edition" and Inside Politics." She has previously worked for NBC and CBS.
